You are THE BRAND!!!

Updated: Sep 4, 2022

Your image affects the way people perceive you and your success. It not only impacts people’s impression of you, but it can also increase your visibility and draw people into you. Your wardrobe – as one facet of your image - symbolizes a lot about you – who you are, what you like, and what you do. When you dress for your message, it changes the value of how you are received and what people hear you say.

There are many reasons that women dress the way they choose. It could be for creative expression, attention, to make a statement, for a man, for other women, and even out of apathy. However, a woman who knows herself and her personal style uses fashion as a way to increase her impact in every area of her life.

When it comes to dressing well, you may underestimate the power of personal style. Personal style is about staying true to yourself, and the key is to define and develop a look that effectively communicates who you are and where you are going. You are curating an image and wardrobe that helps you express yourself and embody the woman you want to be.

This all sounds great and easy, right? Yet so many women struggle with how to show up. And I don’t mean in the privacy of your own home, lounging, vacationing, etc. I mean how you show up to the world.

Have you embraced this “take me as I am” attitude and then wonder why you aren’t respected or regarded in the way you feel you deserve? Do you think people should respect you because you know your stuff, but disregard your outlandish or sloppy appearance?

Now, before you agree, I want you to consider the way you choose who to support. Would you choose the sharply dressed realtor or the one who shows up in sweats with stains on them? Would you accept fashion advice from a stylist who is poorly dressed or the one who shows up beautifully powerful?

I acknowledge the trauma around fashion, style, and clothes exists -it’s a very real thing. Many women hate shopping, and many women don’t love their bodies – so there is resentment and frustration when it comes to clothing and getting dressed.

I get it. But what if I told you that you can change your relationship with clothes? And that you can use your wardrobe to heal your self-confidence and style confidence. What if I told you that changing the clothes you wear can make you feel comfortable and confident? Then would you see the value in showing up as your best self?

You are THE BRAND. Regardless of what you do or what your station is in life, you have a personal brand and a personal style. And when you get dressed each day you are sending a message about yourself - to yourself most importantly, and the world. Your wardrobe has the ability to make you show up powerfully. What do you want your personal brand to represent?

If you desire to increase your impact in your business and life in 2022, as my contribution to the Empower Women through Knowledge 2022 goal, I am offering a FREE 20 min personal style audit where you will get key considerations for your wardrobe to build your style confidence, your self confidence, and ignite your image.

I never looked at myself as being the brand. This brings new light to how I have looked at my personal style. I'm working on a business and I always thought the business is your brand but after reading this it makes sense I am the brand.

Very well said! How you show up is definitely how you'll be perceived. Great read & many blessings to you !

We need to go back to the idea that, whether we like it or not, our look introduces you before our voice, our intelligence. So to win in this season, we need to go take a look at how some of female inspirations present themselves.

We have a dress code at the company I am working for…..and all tattoes to be hidden for clients’ meetings. Some people may deny it but your appearance can make or break a deal🤷🏾‍♀️

Oh, yes!!! Tattoos and body piercing are still frowned upon in certain settings. Sometimes, we have to accommodate to get to where we need to be.
