Being ambitious has gotten a lot of negative connotations over the years to the point where people, especially women, are ashamed to display their ambitious personality.
If you are an ambitious man, you are perceived as COLD!!! If you are an ambitious woman, you get called derogatory names and don’t get accolades because people still don’t know in the 21st century what box to put ambitious women in.
Today, I want to give you FIVE REASONS, whether you're a Man or a Woman, why you need to Be PROUD and DISPLAY YOUR AMBITION:
1- Being AMBITIOUS is actually a gift from GOD!!! You can’t be a great Christian if you are mediocre. Being ambitious will inspire you to pursue God's commandments to be “the HEAD and not the tail… to be ABOVE and not beneath”- (Deuteronomy 28:13). Clearly, these are not commandments from a God who wants you to live a basic life. Wouldn’t you agree? 2- You can’t grow as a human being if you are not AMBITIOUS!!! Ambition is the fuel that makes you aspire to be a better person for yourself, your family, and your friends, to set goals outside of your comfort zone, to learn new skills and expand beyond what your eyes see. 3- Do you know what Jeff Bezos, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs, and Tyler Perry all have in common? AMBITION!!! They allow their AMBITION to be the creative force of their life. AMBITION will force you to explore, to innovate, to challenge the norm. AMBITION gave you the Apple phone in your hand or any other electronic device you’re using to read this blog. 4- AMBITION can help you maintain a healthy mental well-being when you are in a rut. Let me tell you, there are seasons in my life, I would have climbed into my bed and not gotten up, but because I was ambitious, I could envision a different life for myself.
5- Your AMBITION benefits SOCIETY!!! If people would stop being shady, they would realize that society also benefits every time someone follows their dreams and purpose because of their ambition. The job you have is thanks to someone’s ambition to create that business. The juice you are drinking from a bottle is the result of someone’s ambition to pursue their dream of bottling it. If fewer people are dying of certain illnesses is thanks to someone’s ambition to find a cure. If our quality of life keeps improving is because people are being ambitious and are pursuing their dreams.
So today, I am encouraging you to BE AMBITIOUS because your lack of it or your decision to dumb it down doesn’t serve you, your family, your friends, or society.
Remember, a Big Audacious Goal (BAG) needs a Badass Person to see it come to pass. So go ahead, be that AMBITIOUS PERSON you were created to be.
